Lauren’s passion and empathy for the senior living industry is exemplified by her enthusiasm for providing the best programs and activities for the residents and staff. She is currently enrolled in college and attending Sam Houston State University. When she is not caring for others at work, Lauren enjoys reading and is an avid Taylor Swift fan.

Michelle Banion
Business Office Manager
Michelle Banion is a Native Houstonian. She began her passion in Senior Living as a CNA for 8 years, from there she became Lead Concierge, and was promoted to Business Office Manager. When she is not in the community, she is busy with her family! She is married and has three children. Michelle says she can’t wait to retire from Village on the Park and move into the community.
Juan Cendoya
Director of Maintenance
Juan, a native of Monterrey, Mexico, has served our community for the last 18 years. He works daily to ensure a safe and well-maintained community. He, along with his maintenance team, is quick to help our residents with their specific maintenance needs and to keep everything in good working order and beautiful.
Juan has two grown children and two dogs. He enjoys playing and watching soccer. Here at the community, we celebrate an annual fun day called Everyone Loves Juan Day with a Mariachi Band, decorations, and a delicious meal. Juan loves our residents like family and is always ready to help and to give.
Michelle Furhman
Director of Resident Care
Michelle, naive of Lebanon, Pa. It’s a hop, skip and a jump from the sweetest place on earth Hershey, Pa. She has been an LVN/LPN since 2007. Starting her nursing career in skilled nursing. She then transitioned to work as an LPN for the Dept. of Veteran Affairs as a night shift float nurse. Additionally, she has worked as Nurse Case Manager in Behavioral Health for the Army serving the 11ACR at Ft Irwin, Ca. She has even worked in family practice with Balboa Naval Hospital, as well as with Scripps Hospital in San Diego. Within senior living she has held the roles as Resident Care Director, Resident Service Director, Healthcare Director, and Assisted Living Director.
She enjoys learning and going to school. She has obtained the following degrees: Associates of Arts Concentration in Health Care Administration/Electronic Health Records, Bachelor of Science in Health Administration Concentration in Health Management, Masters of Healthcare Administration, and Masters of Business Administration. She also has her Assisted Living Manager Certificate.
She moved to Houston from Oceanside, Ca to be closer to family. She grew up in San Diego, Ca due to my father being in the Navy. She was your typical military brat in every way. To the point she joined the Navy just like her father, after serving 8 years she decided to change careers. Getting out of the Navy in 2006 after seeing the world.
She enjoys spending time with her partner Frank and daughters Eliza, Alyssa, and Eleigha.
Charmion Brooks
Assisted living Manager
Charmion has been a part of the Steeplechase family for 12 years, she started as a CNA and excelled at every opportunity given to her to grow in her career. Charmion is from Temple Texas and accredits growing up there as to why she is so strong in her values, traditions, and her spirt. She has a true servant’s heart and says that her favorite part of her job is forming a relationship with the residents and their families. They become our family. When Charmion is not at the community she loves spending time with her 10 grandchildren, cooking, and helping others. Her long-term Career goals are to return to school to pursue a nursing degree so that she can continue in her passion of helping our elder population.
