Dawn Martin is the Executive Director at Carriage Inn Bryan. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and a Certified Assisted Living Manager (CALM) with over eight years of experience working with seniors and their families in assisted living and memory care settings. Dawn is passionate about serving older adults and takes pride in creating an atmosphere where every resident feels valued, respected, and heard. 

Dawn has dedicated her career to fostering warm, safe, and engaging home environments where residents can truly thrive. She strongly believes in the importance of relationship-centered living and takes time to listen, understand, and tailor the resident experience to exceed expectations. Dawn and her team strive to make every day meaningful for those they serve—being present, sharing stories, joining in activities, and offering professional expertise, exceptional care, and compassionate support.

Outside of work, she enjoys a fulfilling family life with her husband, Jay; her daughter, Kayla; her son-in-law, Seth; and her two cherished grandchildren, Ellie and Nolan. She also enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and spending time in nature.

Amber Nelson is the Director of Resident Care at Carriage Inn Bryan and a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) with 15 years of nursing experience. She is passionate about providing high-quality resident care and finds it truly rewarding to see residents smiling and enjoying life at Carriage Inn. She is always looking for new ways to bring joy and comfort into residents’ lives and encourages her team members to do the same, leading with empathy, fairness, and a strong work ethic.

Outside of work, Amber is a proud mom of three boys and enjoys spending time with her family, including her nieces and nephew. She loves the outdoors and is often found fishing, camping, or relaxing by the water, whether at the beach or the lake. She is also an animal lover and shares her home with two dogs and two cats. “Caring for others—both professionally and personally—is at the heart of who I am, and I feel grateful to work in a field that allows me to make a positive difference every day,” says Amber.

Penny Kelley is the Business Office Manager at Carriage Inn Bryan. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University and brings a deeply rooted background in office administration, accounting, sales/leasing, and customer service to her role at Carriage Inn. Penny loves the opportunity to serve others and enjoys nurturing positive relationships with all community members. Her strong communication and organizational skills help to ensure that any concerns are addressed with professionalism, care, and the utmost respect.

Penny’s hardworking, dependable, and people-oriented nature comes with a positive attitude that she shares daily with everyone who walks in the door. While supporting the community with business office needs, she never misses the chance to create meaningful connections, always remembering the heart of what we do: caring for others.

Outside of work hours, Penny enjoys spending time with her family and friends, including her husband of 13 years and her three sons.

Shamica Ausby is the Director of Dining Services at the beautiful senior living community, Carriage Inn Bryan. She has been with Carriage Inn since April 2017. Shamica leads the dining team to ensure that residents enjoy an exceptional dining experience, featuring a wide variety of nutritious and delicious foods. Outside of work, Shamica is a mother to three wonderful daughters and a grandmother to three amazing grandsons. She cherishes spending quality time with her family whenever possible.

Natalie Owens, Lead Concierge at Carriage Inn Bryan, is the familiar face you see in the front lobby, welcoming residents, families, and visitors each day. With a smile, a kind word, and a helping hand, she strives to make everyone feel comfortable and at home in our community.

Natalie provides assistance and support in numerous ways to those who walk through our doors. Whether she is answering questions, relaying information, listening to a concern, or assisting with a need, she offers exceptional customer service while ensuring every interaction is respectful and relationship-centered. She takes delight in nurturing meaningful connections and making each day a little brighter for anyone she serves.

When Natalie is not working in the community, she can be found continuing her education in Human Performance and Wellness Management. She enjoys applying what she learns in her studies to support a wellness-centered approach in senior living.

William Kiakis is the Director of Maintenance at Carriage Inn Bryan. William has worked in building maintenance for the past thirty years, during which he obtained his plumbing degree, locksmith certification, and HVAC certification. William sincerely enjoys working with older adults, supporting them, and caring for their needs. He is always focused on resident safety and security and takes great care to ensure the community environment is at its best. 

Originally from upstate New York, William moved to Texas approximately three years ago to be closer to his middle son and his family. In his free time, he loves spending time in nature, photographing animals, enjoying a sunset, and delighting in all things nature-related. William also loves spending time with his family and relaxing on the weekends.
